Mission

“Dawn's Early Light” is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to: heal, enlighten, and help be a voice for those that have been silenced by abuse. Dawn's Early Light tackles all forms of sexual, verbal, or physical abuse, and illuminates the lives of those who walk in darkness.
The team at “Dawn's Early Light” utilizes an array of professionals, from doctors to social workers, as well as carefully selected volunteers with experience in handling abuse cases. We also perform skits at schools, churches and community centers to demonstrate actions or behaviors that have malicious intent to educate our youth when to speak up.

Our Founder's Story

Many times, I wondered why, "Why did this happen to me?" Because there are bad people in the world! There are also many more good people in the world! I was abused for 10 long years. It was an extremely traumatic experience, and it was embedded in my head that if I told anyone about what happened to me, it would break up the family. After some time of healing, I realized that we need to share our experiences with others, so that we can all heal.

Goals

TO EDUCATE, INFORM AND ASSIST ABUSED CHILDREN

There are many activities that will involve, not only the victims, but the parents and supporting family as well.  These activities consist of short movies, plays, and many other educational tools that enlighten and educate entire families.

TO ADVOCATE FOR ABUSED CHILDREN

We call for the eradication of all forms of abuse. We are committed to bringing peace and serenity to the 3 out of 5 kids that are abused on a daily basis. Dawn's Early Light is committed to the future mental and physical health of all children that we may encounter.

TO PROMOTE HEALTHY COPING MECHANISMS

We continuously monitor participants with the goals of ensuring safe and reliable services. We teach children in dangerous situations how to safely seek help. We require the highest quality care to be given to our children.
